Q. When I blow dry my hair why does my fringe never seems to lie flat and sticks up?
A. If you have a problem fringe it is a good idea to dry your fringe first, before the rest of your hair - making sure you don't lift it at the roots too much! This will ensure that your fringe looks the way you want it to, otherwise if you let it dry naturally it will do it's own thing and that probably means it will stick up.
Q. My hair never seems as shiny when I blow dry it, as it does when I have it done professionally. How can I achieve shiny hair at home?
A. Use a nozzle on your hairdryer and make sure the air flows from root to tip, a nozzle directs the hot hair in a more controlled manner. Using the right products will make a huge difference too, ask your stylist to recommend the correct finishing and styling products for your hair type. These products will help you produce a smooth blow dry with plenty of body and shine.
Q. I straighten my hair a lot and it's beginning to feel very dry, help!! What do you suggest?
A. Using any heat regularly on your hair can dry it out and make it feel brittle. Always make sure you use a protective spray such as Flatter, by Clynol when using straighteners. Spray each section before running the straighteners through your hair, this will help provide a protective barrier between the hair and the heat and help you achieve a nice shiny result. Make sure you ask your stylist for advice on the correct shampoo and conditioner for your hair to keep it in the best condition possible.
Q. I colour my hair a lot, but find it fades fast. What can I do to prolong my colour?
A. Always use a shampoo and conditioner specially formulated for coloured hair. Try Clynol's Enrich, (shampoo), and Restore, (conditioner). These will restore and replenish your colour every time you wash it. You should avoid shampoo for dandruff, as these can be very abrasive, stripping the colour out. Also protect your hair from the sun by wearing a hat, this will also prevent colour fade.
